We have launched a letter writing campaign to Minister Irvin-Ross to address wages of staff excluded from the wage enhancement fund. While starting wages for residential staff have increased to $13.75, many are excluded from this increase. People employed in respite, day, employment and supported independent living are not part of this increase. The lack of equalized pay is causing many difficulties in our province and I urge you to send in letters and reach out to your contacts to increase awareness on this issue.
I’ve included an email I sent out to my family with this very effort in mind. (click to enlarge letter)
Please take a few moments to sign and submit letters in support of better wages.
Please use or adapt templates and submit. The more letters received, the greater the impact.
We are always better together.
UPDATE: As of February 2, 2016 approximately 1500 letters have been received by Minister Irvin-Ross. You are welcome to continue to submit letters, this will only enhance the efforts.
